It’s Friday evening and you’re getting ready for a night on the town with a new guy. You want to look your very best, but sometimes it seems like there are too many things to think about. But have no fear- with this handy pre-date beauty checklist, you can make sure all the bases are covered and you’re guaranteed to impress!
Teeth
Yellow teeth aren’t really a turn-on, so look into whitening them before the date. Many whitening products only take a week or so. They can be inexpensive, too; whitening pens can cost as little as $10! If your date is going to involve a meal, throw some floss into your purse. You don’t want to embarrass yourself by getting food stuck in your teeth!
Hair
Everyone is different when it comes to the way they want to do their hair for a date. Some throw it in a ponytail and others give themselves an extra special ‘do for the evening. Just make sure your hair matches the type of date you’re going on. A simple pony might be great for a beach date, but not necessarily for a night at the club. If you decide to leave it down for the day, at least make sure you give it a brush!
Nails
Lots of people underestimate guys’ attention to detail. Some men are completely turned-off by a poorly-groomed woman, so make sure your nails don’t look sloppy. You don’t need to go out and get a manicure, by any means, but make sure your polish isn’t flaking, peeling, or weeks old. Either let your nails go completely bare, or apply a fresh coat before you head out.
Breath
Nothing is worse than getting close to someone and finding out they have skunk breath! Do a quick pre-date brushing session to get all the bad breath-causing bacteria out of your mouth. Remember to brush your tongue, where lots of the bacteria hangs out. Keep some gum or mints on hand during the date for emergency situations, as well!
Face
Don’t over-do the makeup. Guys tend to like girls who look naturally beautiful, so stick with a simple and flattering look. Sweep a neutral shadow across your lids, slick on some mascara, use a subtle powder foundation, and sport a nude or light pink lip. And if you foresee smooching, ditch the sticky gloss. A tinted chapstick or lip stain will do just fine and it will be much less messy.
And remember: beauty should be more than what is on the outside. Let your personality shine through and you’ll be a star! If a guy dumps you because you didn’t do your hair the right way, he wasn’t worth it in the first place.
